Akomplice continues their photo journalistic approach to lookbooks documenting sights and sounds of Electric Forest for their Fall Collection. With each Lookbook, Akomplice explores and embraces a diverse set of communities and cultures. Furnished with all-access passes to the sold out festival, Akomplice co-founder Patrick Liberty admitted, “we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.” Set in Rothbury, Michigan, Electric Forest was a attended by 30,000 festival goers and is akin to a modern day Woodstock. The musical stylings, interactive art installations and general air of merriment provided an exciting ambiance for Akomplice to shoot their Fall Collection in. Akomplice kept model selection as organic as the festival itself, hand-selecting artists, managers, stage hands, and Electric Forest ticket holders all on site. Featured artists in the lookbook include: Paper Diamond, Umphrey McGee’s bass guitarist Ryan Stasik, Manic Focus, Lindsay Lowend, and members of Conspirator. Like Akomplice, Electric Forest prides itself on innovation which was on full display, combining Lauryn Hill and The String Cheese Incident for a set titled “The Ms. Lauryn Hill Incident.”
Festival artists included, but were not limited to Zedd, ScHoolboy Q, Glitch Mob, STS9, Stephen Ragga Marley, and a plethora of others. Akomplice saw Electric Forest as an opportunity to truly explore another youth movement that is rapidly expanding through the United States. What they found was all walks of life coming together with an overwhelming positive vibe. Their collaboration with the festival extends beyond a partnership in making a lookbook, but to an Electric Forest x Akomplice co-branded T-shirt as well, which will drop October 5th at 5pm on the Akomplice webstore. The Akomplice motto is “for the love” and documenting 24-hours at Electric Forest, it’s safe to say it’s a shared motto. Look for the Akomplice Fall Collection available now at retailers worldwide.
