Winter has officially arrived, meaning fresh snow, skiing, snowboarding and Santa on the slopes. Yes, you read that right. Santa Claus even found time prior to his big night of delivering toys and goodies to ski down the mountain at Snow Summit.

“Recent snowfall here at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain has truly been an early Christmas gift for skiers and snowboarders,” said Chris Riddle, Big Bear Mountain Resorts Vice President of Marketing. “Because of that snow and the ideal conditions for making additional manmade snow, we’ve been able to open a majority of our runs to the public and you don’t want to miss out on these awesome snow conditions during the holiday break.”

Hours of operation for Bear Mountain and Snow Summit will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. today through Wednesday, December 24. Holiday hours go into effect December 25, 2014 through January 3, 2015. Starting December 25, Snow Summit will be open 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Bear Mountain will be open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We strongly encourage you to make your online reservations now because ticket sales may be limited for both resorts,” said Riddle.

Lessons, rentals, retail and food service are open and available for guests at both resorts during regular hours of operation. Night sessions will be available at Snow Summit only from December 25, 2014 through January 3, 2015. Click here for the updated night session schedule.
