Featuring an eclectic mix of outerwear, tech apparel, water resistant headwear and accessories, the 686 x ’47 collection delivers a crisp aesthetic that blends futuristic camo patterns, color blocking and classic logos of collegiate marks, with technical progression.

The capsule line features logos and marks of fourteen universities and colleges across the U.S., which includes Boston University, Brigham Young University, University of California, University of Colorado, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, University of Michigan, University of Nebraska, Pennsylvania State University, University of Southern California, University of Texas, University of Vermont, University of Wisconsin and Yale University.

“We want to bring something new and fresh to the collegiate market,” said co-owner of ’47, Steven D’Angelo. “Through the lens of sports, forming an alliance with the innovators of snow outerwear to offer a modern and technical collection to this market that can be worn on the mountain or on campus,” added D’Angelo.

The collaboration blends 686’s experience crafting technical apparel with ’47’s deep roots in collegiate headwear and apparel. At its foundation, the project is built upon mutual respect and a shared commitment to progression. This collection release is just one of many that are in the works between both brands, as it will be long-lasting partnership.

“I started 686 in my dorm room in college, so working together with ’47 on a collegiate capsule really brings things full circle,” explains Michael Akira West, founder and CEO of 686. “Waterproof, breathable and antimicrobial apparel is something that we’ve lived by for the past 23 years. The capsule consists of one waterproof and breathable outerwear jacket, one water repellant insulator, two facemasks, two shirts, one hoodie, two cuff knits and two waterproof hats made from 686’s infiDRY® outerwear fabrics. ’47 spearheaded the streetwear and headwear, while 686 developed the outerwear and facemasks. This collection kicks-off their Fall 2015 launch.
