Combining two distinctly different disciplines, ThirtyTwo day takes place on the second day of March each year at Brighton Resort. The event is equal parts banked slalom, rail jam, beer and sun. And it’s no coincidence that a good time on the banked course is 32 seconds.

From ThirtyTwo:

Once again, the annual ThirtyTwo Day Banked Slalom and Rail Jam on 3/2/2016 at Brighton Resort united the snowboard community. With the common bond of snowboarding, 242 riders entered the event and thousands more enjoyed the sunny day at the mountain.

Everyone from pros to the keyboard cowboys taking the day off work were on the same playing field for the banked slalom contest. The speed and technical turns of the course caught snowboarders of all ability levels off guard during the day. ThirtyTwo team riders that raced and then judged the rail jam were JP Walker, Scott Stevens, Chris Grenier, Dylan Thompson, Brandon Hobush and Christian Hobush. Some of the other heavy hitters that turned out to race were Seth Huot, Bjorn Leines and Chris Beresford.

20160302-Moran-32_Day-Blackley_Madison-_CM_6051[1]Madison Blackely has become a staple on top of the podium at ThirtyTwo Day, and she continued that tradition this year by winning overall.

ThirtyTwo Day combines the rider’s place in the Banked Slalom event with their place in the Rail Jam for the overall win. The sound track to this unforgettable day was provided by DJ Matty and event emcee Castro.
