Jussi Oksanen has had a long, illustrious, and truly incredible career. His influence reached far and wide in the days of Robot Food, a young Finn coming over to the United States and showing the world how snowboarding can be so damn fun. In the many years of his career he has claimed the titles: Olympian, X Games Medalist, movie part master and backcountry expert, as well as family man and Mizu founder.

Today Jussi Oksanen retires from professional snowboarding.

“Mizu has always meant so much for me, it’s sort of my little baby. But the last few years were so important for me in snowboarding — I still felt like I had to prove to myself that I’ve still got it and show people that to some degree snowboarding evolves in a really positive way with age. I felt like I really got the chance to do that and I was totally fulfilled by my snowboarding career.”  — Jussi Oksanen

We at Snowboard Magazine want to say thank you Jussi, your many seasons of service in snowboarding have had a profound impact on us and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors at Mizu.
