For their latest docu-style lookbook Akomplice takes to the California cityscape and coast. Spanning Santa Barbara, Inglewood, Los Feliz and La Brea, the Akomplice Summer ’15 Lookbook takes a narrative look at three distinct West Coast lifestyles. First featured is Freddie Williamson, Akomplice flagship store manager and avid outdoorsman. Freddie is a surf enthusiast and native Californian and takes the viewer on an excursion along the Santa Barbara coast. Along Freddie’s hike, the viewer is privy to all that the Santa Barbara sun touches.
For their second feature, the brand tapped recording artist Yonas Michael, fresh off a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Formerly at the helm of the Akomplice flagship, Yonas’ connection to the brand and founders runs deep. For his vignette, Yonas hits neighborhood staple, Randy’s Donuts before dashing across four lanes of traffic for an impromptu mean mug. Last, but undeniably not least, is co-founder of LA’s top-rated juice bar, and childhood friend, Jonathan Wright of The Punchbowl. Wright is a mainstay of the progressive LA enclave, Los Feliz and his top-rated 100% organic menu consistently pushes the boundaries of what’s expected from a juice bar.
The Akomplice Summer ’15 Lookbook not only showcases the gear, but equally as important, the lifestyle upheld by the brand.
The lookbook features looks from the Akomplice main line and VSOP which moving forward will be a separate endeavor from Akomplice co-founders, Mike and Patrick. The Akomplice main line will feature bold and aggressive colors and branding while VSOP will manifest as a more subtle take on cuts, quality and material choice. In addition, 10% of all profits derived from VSOP will be donated towards charitable causes. Look for the Summer collection to drop worldwide and in the Akomplice webstore Thursday, July 9th.
