Aspen Skiing Company (ASC) will begin construction of the new Limelight Hotel Ketchum on Friday, July 10 at 11:30 a.m. with a Ground Breaking Ceremony. The new hotel will feature 99 hotel rooms, 14 for sale condominiums and 12 lock off units, plus a new restaurant and lobby lounge. The Ground Breaking will feature a short ceremony with Jim Crown, Managing Partner, Aspen Skiing Company; Mike Kaplan, President and CEO, Aspen Skiing Company; and Nina Jonas, Mayor, Ketchum, Idaho.

“We are thrilled to be getting under way with this project and are pushing hard to open in December of 2016,” said Mike Kaplan, President and CEO, Aspen Skiing Company. “We have received tremendous support from the community and local and state government to make this project possible and we would like to thank them.”

The Limelight’s bright, modern and open lobby is a key element of the hotel’s design and functionality. The lobby and lounge flow together and have the feel of a large, comfortable living room. The area hosts the Limelight’s signature, expanded continental breakfast, après ski and happy hour, and informal gatherings of guests and locals.

The Limelight is consistently ranked as one of the top lodging properties in Aspen on Trip Advisor, and has received numerous awards and accolades including recently being named to Condè Nast Travelers Readers’ Choice Awards Best Hotels in the West list.
