SASS Global Travel announces the launch of the third year of their newest and most anticipated program: SASS Japan 2016 is now open for registration. Now in its third year of operation, SASS will use their snow travel expertise to offer a specialized opportunity to advanced and expert skiers and riders looking to get a taste of the world’s deepest snow.

SASS Japan is moving its operation to the base of Kiroro Resort becoming the only private guide operation at the area. Kiroro regularly boasts the highest snow totals on Hokkaido (which is seriously saying something) and as the North Island of Japan has become a bucket list trip for powder hunters, SASS is looking to make this unique location accessible to adventure travelers with a desire for face shots and a distinct cultural experience.

SASS Japan’s move to Kiroro gives them incredible access to the bottomless lift served terrain and sidecountry, as well as infinite touring options directly out of the hotel’s door. 4×4 vans will be on hand to access other nearby resorts, road laps and backcountry zones to make sure that every day is spent in the most snow available. By basing the program outside the Niseko area, SASS clients can take full advantage of less crowds, better terrain access, more average snow totals and a more authentic Japanese cultural experience.

Three ten-day sessions will run from January 5th through February 3rd to hit “Japanuary” (a time known for the most consistent snowfall) in full swing. There is simply no better time
to be in Japan if glutinous powder is your goal. Small groups of like-minded skiers and riders of similar ability levels will be led by the all-star cast of pro guides for which SASS is famous. One-third of the spots have already sold to eager shredders who made a point to get on the private early access list. These sessions will sell out quickly.

Previous client Darrin Phillips says, “SASS blew me away in Argentina, but then I went with them to Japan. SASS Japan will be my yearly trip from here on out.” The SASS team could not be more fired up to get back to their favorite destination and share it with a new crew. “After my first day at Kiroro, I knew this is where we had to be. The access is just unreal and the snow never seems to stop,” says Guide and Mountain Operations Director Pete Connolly.

Building off of the success of last year and the knowledge gained through years in Argentina, SASS’ unrivaled ability to bring high-end skiers and riders together in a tight-knit atmosphere while experiencing a new culture and getting after it in amazing terrain will be in full effect.
