You feet will be forever grateful, and your friends forever jealous.

This season, Volcom has teamed up with long time artist and snowboarding legend Bryan Iguchi to create winter-ready footwear ripe for the season. Combining true grit and authentic street wear style, veteran Volcom team rider Bryan Iguchi stays ‘true to this’ with his signature editions of the Outlander boot and Grimm Mid 2 shoe. Both footwear pieces showcase Iguchi’s Teepee Stone artwork designed specifically for the collection symbolizing shelter, comfort and protection from the elements.

The Outlander x Bryan Iguchi Boot is made from water resistant Nubuck leather and features a classic back woods design alongside signature artwork and technical details for both mountain trails and winter sidewalks. A durable and grippy rubber outsole has the Outlander making tracks in the trails while the tongue and heel pulls make for easy entry when rushing to work. Additionally the molded heel counter and EVA heel strike provides for long-lasting comfort. Further features include tongue gussets, a padded tongue and collar, rubber mud guard, and RCF Technology footbed.

Hard working boots for hard working men.

“I spend my winters walking around on snow and ice,” explains Bryan Iguchi. “From my home to the trailhead these boots have endured the harshest Wyoming Winters. I live in these.”

Iguchi also chose to work with the Volcom footwear team in designing the Grimm Mid 2 as it was a style that he wore often. The upper features water resistant Nubuck, a thinly padded tongue and collar as well as a Molded Recliner Comfort Foam insole.

Bryan Iguchi has been a pro snowboarder for more than 20 years. Born and raised in southern California, Iguchi’s creative outlook naturally drew him to skateboarding, surfing and later snowboarding but ultimately it was the mountains that won him over. A few years into a successful pro career, Iguchi abandoned the California scene for the relative isolation of Jackson, Wyoming. This was a bold move but was one that made all the difference in his evolution as a rider. The move to “real mountains” was all about personal progression and exploring the possibilities of backcountry freeriding.

The Grimm Mid 2, for the casual days.

Iguchi has been drawing and creating art for just as long as he’s been riding. From watercolor pieces to acrylics, his artwork is constantly evolving and has been contributing his graphics and patterns for Volcom’s snow outerwear program for years. Now he has lent his detail and styling knowledge to the Volcom’s footwear design team to create the special winter-ready editions of the Outlander boot and Grimm Mid 2 shoe.

“Guch is passionate about product,” says Footwear Director Jason Smith. “He knows what works in the real world and his input is always on point. The fact that he’s also an artist made this collaboration pretty much seamless.”
