The first stop of the Winter Dew Tour in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado, concluded Sunday with the men’s pipe finals. The clouds parted and the sun shone brightly creating nearly perfect conditions for the riders. The competition proved fierce as a nail-biting battle to the top ensued.
Danny Davis cranked out a huge frontside 10 comboed with a cab 10 nosegrab that earned him podium status. His score of 94.75 propelled him into the first place spot right above pipe veteran Shaun White. White threw down a stock run that had impressive amplitude and style earning him a solid 93.50, but that just wasn’t enough for the win. Rounding out the top three was Mr. Scotty Lago who threw a stylie front 10 on the first hit earning him a 90 straight up.
Bangers abounded in this men’s field which sets the stakes high for the next two tour stops. The riders are hungry for a piece of that 1.5 million dollar prize purse so stay tuned to see who soars to the top and who falls to the bottom of this contest circuit.
