Howling At Wolf Creek - Gama Post

Photobucket

Despite the lack of new snow in the forecast and on the ground, I rallied some amigos/familia to head down south to Wolf Creek. Now usually at this time of the season Wolf Creek is just filled to the brim with kung pow. However, like most resorts in the country this season the snow just hasn't quite filled in yet. So why spend the time on a 6 hour drive from Aspen and countless dollars on roadside snacks and gas? I am just going to put aside the fact that this is where I learned how to snowboard over 22 years ago and owe my life to this mountain. No no, the real reason is because a forward thinker, owner, operator and snowboarder Davey Pitcher believes it is necessary to open his enjoyment to the public a.s.a.p. The entire mountain is open! Not just one death ribbon that you have to battle other shredders and ski racers over. The entire mountain is your playground right now. Grab your rock board and keep a keen eye on the reef. SHRAD!!!
