Summer has been off the charts this year! I was able to start it out with a RAD trip to Mexico with my good homies from XSories. We surfed, crushed beers, and took a wicked ride through wine country.

After that I pretty much jumped right back in my truck and headed to California for a Burton retail event held at the famous Pismo beach. My good friend Jake Pollgreen, fellow Bozonerd, ranted about this place and it lived up to the expectation, Dunes, beers, bikes, and beach.

Since then I went on a moto trip up to Jackson Hole with the BoltsAction crew for their annual birthday ride. That trip is a favorite I try to do every summer, check the link.

Now I’ve been back home mostly, and loving it. Utah is such a rad place in the summer, skating, swimming, camping, and my newest hobby down hill mountain biking. It’s been awesome because a ton of homies have bought bikes and season passes to canyons our crew is #OCR!

Other than that I have been working on some side projects, and love spending time in the garage building shit.

Froth Out and enjoy the last days of summer, winter is near!

Summer, for us snowboarders, it can be a tough pill to swallow. Chasing pillow lines, beers on the lift with buds, and scaring the shit out of ourselves at local street spots are things we count down days for. Alex Andrews has a different method. Instead of chasing winter around the globe, he likes to recognize, appreciate, and froth out on the beauty of a season we take for granted. Welcome to Alex’s summer. Welcome to: Fish Out of Frozen Water.

A quiet summer morning in Encinitas. We meet up early in time for a cup of joe from Pannikin. With some friends from Burton Snowboards, others from Utah (Alex’s current city of residence) as well as California, we rally at Jason Janecek’s crib. He works for XSories and has some new goodies he wants us all to try out on a surf trip; oh, he also invites us to a house we can go to in Las Gaviotas, North Baja, Mexico. We oblige. After a quick skate on a neighborhood quarterpipe (with a cameo sesh from Chris Cote), we hit Interstate 5 South onward to a different word so close to home.

The eagle has landed. An interesting drive through the border puts us back out on the coast and into Las Gaviotas. After we park, we grabbed Tecates and checked the surf. No joke, we didn’t even grab our bags out of the car yet. Jason gave us a rundown on the break and shared some local tips since he’s been coming here for years. Alex, on the left here, is in full FROTH MODE. A term you’ll hear a lot around him because he is literally always having the best time of his life. Right this moment, he’s frothing out on something as you read this. Guaranteed.

Alex picked up some local blonde babe. Just kidding. That’s his main squeeze and you bet she travels with him. What good are memories if you can’t share ’em right? We wandered the small community of Las Gaviotas to see the infamous architecture stylings of Mexico and sneak into a couple cocaine-tycoon mansions to ball so hard.
