Hitting mailboxes this week will be Snowboard Magazine’s December issue (Volume 9.3) with none other than Austen Sweetin snagging the cover.

The photo was taken by Forum team photographer, Tim Peare while on a shoot with Austen in Anchorage, AK. Here’s what Tim had to say about about getting the shot.

“Our original plan was to head up to Québec and meet up with Nic Sauvé. Austen, Heine and Stevie were denied entrance at the border for whatever reason and with no snow anywhere but Anchorage, AK, we were forced to come up with a new game plan. I had literally just spent two intense weeks up there and really wasn’t looking forward to going back. We all talked about it and came to the conclusion that we pretty much had no choice but to go there.

“The beginning of our trip was littered with issues: Winches not working, police at every spot, you name it. But then it started to slowly come together little by little. I remember for this shot, we were up the street after a different spot setting up a feature when, whoop whoop, the cops rolled in thick, like 6 vehicles deep. We were forced out after having spent hours on the landing. I don’t remember who, but one of the guys had spotted this snowbank to wallride earlier. Kurt Heine’s the man when it comes to building proper transitions and we threw this together and got a ton of shots on it. Austen may be little, but he always comes through BIG and stomped this pretty much right off the bat. Thanks SNOWBOARD MAG! Sure am glad we went back to AK.”
