Its that time of the year again when tons of pro shreds and folks head to Mammoth for the 8th annual WCI and Fiesta De La Pipa presented by Vans, Dragon, SNOWBOARD Mag, and Mammoth Mountain. This year was a banger just like previous WCI's with tons of folks in town for this and upcoming events at Mammoth. Mother nature decided to throw us a late season curve ball which was not quite expected for May in Mammoth, but none the less the conditions throughout the season and the Unbound Park staffs hard work made it possible for a sick event to go down.

After a weather delay until Saturday morning for the Fiesta De La Pipa, the weekend started off with a VIP SNOWBOARD Mag Party at the Westin's White Bark Bar for some half price drinks and food before getting wild down at whiskey creek for the 32 boots shindig Capko threw. The night was a great precursor to the rail jam and Dilated Peoples, but before that the Fiesta De La Pipa was going off and the SNOWBOARD Mag tent was shelling out freshly blended margaritas and hot quesadillas. Folks like Scotty Arnold, Jack Mitrani, Luke Mitrani, Nate Farell, Niko Cioffi, Lucas Magoon, Mason Aguirre, Greg Bretz, Cameron Pierce, and many many more came out and threw down a spectacle despite less than ideal conditions. Big ups to the Unbound Crew for making it happen. Here is what it looked like from my angle... I got stuck for a while in the tent. The tequila was too good. enjoy.

It was all said and done and when Oren Tanzer called it Greg Bretz got second and made $3000 cash for his efforts in taking down the pinata while Luke Mitrani took home $6000 bucks as the unanimous winner. I want to thank Oren and everyone involved especially Dragon, Vans, and of course SNOWBOARD Mag... and thanks Jay and Ashley from Sushi Rei, I love you guys...
