From now until September 13, Breckenridge is accepting name ideas for the brand-spankin’-new, currently anonymous, Peak 6 trails. The winning names will not only make their way on Peak 6’s trail maps, but will also earn their creator two, 2-day lift tickets for the 2013/14 season.
You can submit your ideas for trail names for the new peak through an app accessed on the Breckenridge Facebook page.
BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — Aug. 30, 2013 — Breckenridge Ski Resort recently announced the launch of a brand new Peak 6 trail naming contest, which is open to the public.
“Awaken Your Sixth Sense”
Peak 6 is opening the door to a whole new realm with 543 acres of new terrain. Contest entries should relate to the new peak’s brand theme, “Awaken your sixth sense”, and use names that sum up what senses and feelings are woken from within when human limits are pushed. What inspires a person to explore beyond the horizon, to dream or to dare? Trail names that encompass that sense of being are more likely to be chosen. About Peak 6
This season, Breckenridge will have one of its most exciting years ever, as the resort adds over 540 acres to its famous landscape via the Peak 6 area just north of Peak 7. Peak 6 will include 400 acres of lift-served terrain and 143 acres of hike-to terrain, representing a 23 percent increase in the resort’s skiable acres. This is one of the most notable ski area expansions in the past decade, and will feature high-alpine, intermediate bowl skiing – a rare find in North America.
