What does the President of one of the coolest companies out there do for Spring Break? If you’re Donna Carpenter, President of Burton Snowboards, and an all-around badass, you invite 25 women from influential facets of Burton snowboarding on the trip of a lifetime to Baldface Lodge in Nelson, BC. Travel, lodging, gourmet food, fun and a 2014 Burton Day Trader women’s powder board included.

The Burton crew has a way of making you feel like family and Baldface has a way of making you feel completely relaxed and stoked on every minute of life. The only priority each day was to find good snow and ride with amazing women from all over the globe including Austria, Slovenia, Finland, Canada, Czech Republic, UK and US.

“It’s incredibly special,” says Burton’s Vice President of Marketing,
Anne-Marie Dacashyn. “We talk about moments a lot, Donna and I, and this is one of them. It’s pretty incredible to get 25 women together who are all just pushing the sport and all bring so much to the table and all coming at it from different sides.”

“I’m 43 and I’m doing 3 firsts today,” exclaimed Josee Larocque, Vice President of Operations & IT. “I’m getting in a helicopter, I’m visiting BC and I’m gonna go backcountry ride.”

“This is really what separates Burton from every brand out there,” says Burton team rider, Kelly Clark. “Burton takes the time to do things like this and gather people that want to see the brand move forward. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“I spend most of my time riding in icy halfpipes,” Kelly Clark continues. “Which is awesome, if you’re into that kind of thing! But I have been looking forward to this very much. I’ve never been on a trip where I haven’t had to produce something. So for me this is so nice. I’m just thankful for everybody on this trip and what they do for the sport and I’m very thankful for our fearless leader.”

Bridget Reichert, Sales Rep for Central Canada, covering the East Kootenays all the way to Manitoba has been with Burton almost 7 years. “I worked in a shop for 6 years before that,” said Reichert, smiling after one of Baldface Lodge’s notoriously delicious meal. “So this is life, I’m so honored. Burton’s taken me all over the world and I’ve done the coolest things with this company and I’ve never sat with 25 amazing women before, ever. We can all admit it’s a bit of a dude fest. This is really awesome!”

I have to agree. It was amazing to be included on this trip of a lifetime and ride with an eclectic group of women killing it in the name of snowboarding. Thank you Donna!
