The 2nd Sprint US Grand Prix, and third of five Olympic qualifying events, kicked off in Breckenridge, CO this morning with women’s halfpipe qualifiers. 24 women came out to fight for a spot in finals and a chance to take one step closer to Olympic qualification. Of the 24, only 8 qualified through to Saturday’s finals, with Chloe Kim leading the charge.

Too bad Kim is too young to qualify for Sochi, because this girl is good. The 13-year old snapped up the top qualifying spot, earning a 96 and first place with her first of two runs. Kaitlyn Farrington heads into finals in second, with a nice little 93.20 in her back pocket. Olympic vet Elena Hight qualifies in third, with Queralt Castellet, Arielle Gold, and Kelly Clark trailing behind in 4th, 5th, and 6th, respectively.

Here are the final results, and the 8 riders who will be competing in halfpipe finals on Saturday, January 11:

1. Chloe Kim — 96.00

2. Kaitlyn Farrington — 93.20

3. Elena Hight — 88.20

4. Queralt Castellet — 86.20

5. Arielle Gold — 82.80

6. Kelly Clark — 81.60

7. Sophie Rodriguez — 80.20

8. Holly Crawford — 72.80

There are five Olympic qualifying events in total, two of which — the 2013 Dew Tour and the Copper Grand Prix— have already wrapped up. The next three Grand Prix events will help determine which snowboarders will represent the US in Sochi, as the riders with the best two finishes of the five earning a spot on the team. In total, four riders of each gender will go to Sochi for halfpipe, and four for slopestyle. The final team will be announced at the end of January after the end of the Mammoth Grand Prix.

Heading into this third qualifier, here’s how the US women’s halfpipe team is stacking up:

1. Kelly Clark: 2,000

2. Arielle Gold: 1,400

3. Gretchen Bleiler: 1,000

4. Kaitlyn Farrington: 950

5. Elena Hight: 850

6. Ellery Hollingsworth: 760
