fwt-fieberbrunn

It’s been a tough week in Fieberbrunn, Austria, as the Freeride World Tour competitors have anxiously waited for Mother Nature to turn on the sunshine and blue skys. Although today, March 15, marks the last possible day for competition, the good folks in Austria have decided to extend the weather window one more day so that the competition may go on.

We’ve seen it before: A competition not running because of weather in which the riders either split the prize money and points or a winner is announced from a qualifying round. Does this year’s Burton US Open ring a bell? It’s something every competition director wants to avoid but it’s sometimes necessary. The only bad thing with this sort of outcome is that the true winner will not be crowned.

But all is well on the Freeride World Tour as the competition will go live tomorrow, March 16, at 8:30am CET (that’s Central European Time). You can watch the entire broadcast live right here on snowboardmag.com/live at 1:30am MST.

In the mean time, check out this awesome pro tip from Freeride World Tour competitor John Rodosky as he takes freestyle to the big-mountain scene.
