The Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face competition at Snowbird will now be held Wednesday, March 5, on Silver Fox. The contest was originally scheduled for Friday, but bad weather conditions forced a delay. The comp was rescheduled for Saturday before an unfortunate avalanche at the competition venue forced yet another delay. Now, with forecasts calling for blue skies and a pristine new venue available, FWT organizers have confirmed that they will hold the contest on Wednesday the 5th:

Organizers have confirmed the Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face at Snowbird will take place Wednesday, March 5, 2014. After a disappointing snow slide on North Baldy delayed the competition previously scheduled for Sunday, Silver Fox has been named the new competition venue. Silver Fox has served as a venue for many past freeride competitions at the Resort. The slope faces northeast and often holds some of the most enjoyable snow on the mountain. Forecasts suggest 8-12 inches of snow could fall between now and the competition.
