Introducing the freshly orchestrated Akomplice Holiday 2012 collection, offering a bevy of new silhouettes and styles including jackets, 5 panels, sweaters and even a proprietary Christmas carol.
Akomplice’s comes with a clean and articulate collection for their Holiday 2012 release. In a fashion that has become befitting of the brand, Akomplice flips the script on traditional Holiday cheer and offers a behind the scenes look at Santa Clause. Situated in a dumpster instead of slay, stuffed with garbage for presents, and driven by child laborers, this is not your typical depiction of Kris Kringle. Akomplice goes so far as to offer their own Christmas carol for the season, commenting on minimum wage laws in China. In addition to the politically charged t-shirt offering, Akomplice serves up a strong selection of jackets, sweaters and 5 panel hats. To start, they introduce the Woods Jacket a nice heavy weight piece that holds details such as wooden buttons, leather patches and cotton pinstripe lining. Also included within the collection, is an irreverent flip on the classic Christmas sweater appropriately titled the xxxmas knit. While it sports the same wool knit construction as your Grandpa’s tried and true classic pullover, the subject matter of axes, hookahs, and booze is anything but traditional.
Other notable Holiday offerings include collaborative outerwear pieces with both Hieroglyphics and Leaders 1354. The color-blocked Akomplice x Hieroglyhics pullover marks the third year running the two cohorts have linked up. Akomplice also adds to their longstanding relationship with Windy City based boutique Leaders in the form of the Varsity jacket. The piece comes complete with a pair of contrast hoods that can be zipped on or off. Rounding out the collection are numerous hats including additions to the native inspired apache collection. Akomplice is also introducing an innovative new twist on the classic 5 panel with their hybrid 5 panel snapback. Patrick Liberty of Akomplice says the fit is like a “snapback fused with a 5 panel.” The newly fashioned hats are offered in a litany of styles. Look for the Akomplice Holiday collection on their webstore (http://www.akomplice-clothing.com/store.html) December 8th or at any of their fine retailers worldwide.
