In the first of three consecutive Grand Prix qualifiers going down this weekend in Mammoth, California, Jamie Anderson not only snagged herself the top tier of the podium, but she also earned herself a spot on the US women’s slopestyle Olympic team. Though the official US snowboarding team will not be announced until all five Olympic qualifiers have wrapped on Sunday, Anderson has now won two Olympic qualifying competitions, which technically secures her a spot on the team USA roster.

It has been an interesting— and slightly bumpy— road to Sochi for Jamie, who won last week’s Breckenridge Grand Prix qualifiers, only to have her scores nixed when bad weather forced the FIS to call off finals. Looks like she is back on track after this morning’s makeup competition, putting down a 92.7 and earning her way to Russia to compete in the first ever Olympic Slopestyle competition.

Karly Shorr took second in this contest, and is now sitting 4th in the US Olympic team rankings, putting her in a good position to earn a spot on the US team, if she can put down another solid performance this weekend and earn the qualification points necessary to push her way into the top 3.

Results from Olympic qualifier #3:

1. Jamie Anderson: 92.7
2. Karly Shorr: 89.86
3. Ty Walker: 82.2

There are two more Olympic qualifying events still to come, one this afternoon, with the final contest going down on Saturday. The official US team announcement will be made on Sunday, January 19, 2014.
