The 17th annual Showcase Showdown at Whistler Blackcomb is officially a wrap, with Darcy Sharpe and Katherine Lacroix-Vogel topping their respective podiums. Along with a little extra cash in their pockets, the top 3 men also earned a spot in The Monster Energy Shred Show’s big air event, at the World Ski and Snowboard Festival April 12 in Whistler; the Shred Show is a five star World Snowboard Tour event.

WHISTLER, BC March 15, 2014 – The 17th Annual Showcase Showdown at Whistler Blackcomb finished off with a Big Air competition today under heavy snowfall at the base of Whistler Mountain.

Katherine Lacriox-Vogel brought out her best tricks to grab first place and a $2,500 cheque in the pro women’s category. In second was Jenna Blasman taking her second podium of the weekend along with $1,500, and rounding out the top three was Molly Milligan taking home $500.

Darcy Sharpe landed on the podium again today taking the win in the pro men’s division along with an $8,000 cheque. In second place was Ryan Manning receiving $4,000, and in third was Matts Kulisek earning himself $2,000.

The top three male riders were also awarded spots in The Monster Energy Shred Show’s big air event at the World Ski and Snowboard Festival on April 12 in Whistler. The Shred Show is a five star event on the World Snowboard Tour putting these riders on a bigger stage with an even bigger prize purse of $25, 000.
