Powder & Rails: The preacher of powder – Chuck Barfoot

From Vice:

We find Chuck Barfoot sidewalk-surfing on one of his handmade boards in front of his Barfoot Customs Boards depot in Rincon Point, CA . Originally a surfboard-shaper, Chuck was there at the very beginning of snowboarding, first constructing boards for Tom Sims in the late 70s, and then going out on his own in the early 80s, creating Barfoot Snowboards from scratch.

It was around then that Chuck met a Canadian snowboarder named Ken Achenbach. Ken was an early believer in Chuck, and because Chuck rarely left the beaches of SoCal, Ken took it upon himself to spread the gospel of Barfoot Snowboards. Back in the day, Chuck Barfoot was anything but a shrewd businessman, but he is forever a true original surfer/skater/snowboarder, doing it purely for the enjoyment of himself and his friends. So, do you think he cares if you scoff at him wearing Ugg Boots and pushing mongo? While you sit there and worry about it, Chuck is out riding.
