Platinum Picks: The top 10 Men’s Snowboards of 2014

Unearthing the best boards of the season is no easy assignment. First, those digs are dangerous, often fraught with frivolous technologies, big words and unstable compounds. Second, it’s remarkable how many boards claim they’re the best, or even the “best of the best.” Navigating that field of BS is like pondering the intellectual dichotomy of “jumbo shrimp,” it’s enough to send you into anaphylactic shock.

Yet, with some heavy analysis and intensive labor we found a few gems among the debris, the boards that through either true innovation or proven design shone bright in a site filled with undistinguished rubble. We uncovered men’s snowboards with mechanics beyond comprehension and intelligent designs soon to be hallmarks of progression. Yet surprisingly as often, we found old school technique like camber and asymmetrical design equally compelling. These are our Platinum Picks exposed.
