The snow just won’t stop across western North America. It’s been a great start to 2016 and the bomber conditions will continue this week, so make sure that powder board is waxed and ready to slash. It’s getting deep out there.

California

The Lake Tahoe area will continue its streak of abundant snowfall beginning Friday. A storm will move into the region during the evening and will last until Sunday afternoon. Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Kirkwood, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Sugar Bowl can all expect 29 to 36 inches of snow.

During that timeframe, Mammoth Mountain is looking at 8 to 18 inches down in the Eastern Sierra.

Oregon and Washington

In Washington, snow will begin to fall Thursday, blanketing Crystal Mountain with 11 to 23 inches of the white stuff. Other resorts like Alpental and Mt. Baker will be more in the 8 to 20-inch range through Saturday morning.

Further south in Oregon, Mount Hood Meadows, and Timberline Lodge are expecting 10 to 21 inches from Thursday through Sunday morning.

Alberta and British Columbia

Whistler Blackcomb is once again the place to be north of the border this week. The BC resort is forecasted to receive 21 to 40 inches from Wednesday through Saturday evening. If you happen to be hanging out near the Hemlock Valley west of Vancouver, head to Hemlock Resort which is predicted to receive 23 to 41 inches by the end of the week.

Thursday should be a good day for Alberta, with Sunshine Village and Lake Louise expecting 2 to 4 inches of snow and Marmot Basin looking at 4 to 8 inches.

Idaho, Montana and Wyoming

Big Sky Country should see nice snowfall totals each day this week. Snow will begin on Thursday and last through Saturday evening, producing 6 to 16 inches at Whitefish and 7 to 14 inches at Montana Snowbowl.

Sun Valley is looking at 4 to 10 inches of snow from Thursday evening through Friday and farther west, Bogus Basin and Brundage are looking at 6 to 13 inches.

It’ll be a good weekend for Wyoming. Jackson Hole is looking at 10 to 21 inches from Thursday night through Saturday while Grand Targhee is expecting 12 to 22 inches in that timeframe.

Colorado, New Mexico and Utah

Snow will begin Saturday for Colorado, and by Sunday night northern resorts like Winter Park, Steamboat and Loveland are looking at 10 to 19 inches. Farther south, Wolf Creek is forecasted to receive 14 to 24 inches.

The storm will arrive Friday in Utah, dropping 7 to 15 inches on Snowbird, Brighton, Snowbasin, Park City and Powder Mountain through Sunday.

New Mexico will get a refresh on Sunday, with Taos Ski Valley and Red River forecasted to receive 3 to 7 inches of the white stuff.

New England

Starting in northern New England, Maine resorts like Big Rock and Hermon Mountain are looking at 1 to 4 inches of snow on Friday.

Northern Vermont ski areas like Jay Peak, Stowe, and Smugglers’ Notch are forecasted to receive 1 to 2 inches on Friday.

New Hampshire and New York (not New England, we know) will remain mostly dry, but a dusting is expected later in the week.
