Rossland, BC, November 20, 2012 – RED Mountain and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) are pleased to announce Shred the Love, a ski and snowboard benefit event at RED Mountain, sponsored by The North Face.

The event is an inclusive ski and ride day where RED Mountain Resort will donate 50 per cent of day ticket revenue to help raise funds for several of B4BC’s initiatives, including scholarships through the Survivorship Fund to ReTreat Yourself, a yoga, ski and snowboard retreat for women who have been affected by breast cancer. Activities at RED that day will include ski and snowboard demos as well as breast cancer screening information booths. Top skiers and snowboarders including Megan Pischke, Kendra Starr and Kasha Rigby will be in attendance. The day will end with an après ski party at Rafter’s bar with a national recording artist performing.
Shred the Love is open to all who want to help raise funds for a great cause by skiing at RED that day. The event will also include raffles of top ski and snowboard gear and drink specials in the bar that will help raise funds for B4BC.

Boarding for Breast Cancer will spend a percentage of the funds in the Rossland/Trail community, where they were raised. RED plans to make Shred the Love an annual event. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Shred the Love is one of several Women’s Week (January 31 – February 4, 2013) activities at RED Mountain Resort. Women’s ski and snowboard camps from top women’s snow sports athletes will also be taking place – pro skier Allison Gannett is hosting Rippin Chix ski camp February 2-3, 2013.

During Women’s Week, an additional five per cent of lodging revenue will go to B4BC when you quote B4BC during booking. For lodging info during Women’s Week please contact RED Reservations at 1-877-969-7669 or email [email protected]
