Register Now For The Carinthia Open At Mount Snow

Freestyle skiers and snowboarders from all over the country will descend on Carinthia at Mount Snow on March 19th and 20th. The Carinthia Open is a jam format slopestyle event with $10,000 up for grabs. Skiers take front stage on Saturday with snowboarders taking over on Sunday.

The event is held on the Inferno terrain park, an extra large feature park with jumps of over 60 feet. Inferno is the only park to have hosted slopestyle events for the X Games and Winter Dew Tour. Competitors will attempt to impress judges throughout the mornings jam format. The top sixteen will be chosen to compete in finals where the best of two runs count. This is not your standard event with exact judging criteria. Judges want to see creativity and flow with an emphasis on showmanship.

Past competitors include pros Chris Logan, Nick Goepper, Parker White, LJ Strenio and many more. This year’s event features competitors from all over the US and Canada.

In all $10,000 will be awarded throughout the weekend with a boatload of prizes for top amateurs. New this year is a best trick contest where the day’s best trick will be rewarded with a Contour 1080HD helmet camera. Sponsors include Freeskier Magazine, Smith Optics, Contour, Oakley, Ride, Orage, Skull Candy, Giro and Neff.

Registration is $100 per competitor and includes a weekend lift ticket. For a detailed schedule of events or to register please visit www.moutnsnow.com/events.
