The very fact that I have a blog or anything to do with blogging pretty much makes me want to beat my own ass. If there is anyway around using this word somebody please let me know so I can end this cycle of self-loathing. To me, BLOGing means that the BLOGer has something important or self-serving to say; it implies that I give a shit what you think. The answer to both is: Not really. Beyond the fact that computers make me nervous, I know for a fact that what I say really doesn’t matter, so why people need to share what they are doing with others over the internet just seems kinda weird to me. What I’m getting at is this: I don’t really feel comfortable doing this but I get paid for it, so fuck whatever ideals I am trying to hold on to. In the words of my homie Matty V, “Blog should do us all a big favor and eat a bullet for lunch.”
Let’s begin with this:
Shaun White was featured on the Tosh.O show on Comedy Central last night. Sorry, but I couldn’t help but laugh… hard. Apparently they felt it time to pity him and not his competitors like the rest of us have come to. If you haven’t seen the movie Mask then this will probably not find this funny and assume it’s just plain mean. If you however have seen the movie, then you will know that it’s just plain mean, but then you are probably laughing right now. I don’t know, maybe they just got their photos mixed up.

“If you think I’m cutting this hair you’re insane.”
On another note:
I went snowboarding with Jeremy Jones a couple of weeks ago up near Yosemite, which was fun. I love split boarding and with such a bitch-ass spring the snow stuck around much longer than usual this season allowing them mountains to be ridable long into the summer. We’re doing a feature story on Deeper to be released in our November issue so we met up and talked about it all. I am actually really excited to see what comes of this because Jones is on a mission. He is truly taking snowboarding to new levels and one day I am going to look back and think how lucky I was to be around when he was opening up so much new ground. We should all be proud of this.

Jeremy and Jimmy Lim on the final summit approach where conditions appeared to be optimal.

Jones got a little sketched on this section. Here he is being talked down the run.
And finally, this is what I came home to after my trip to AK this spring.

“Car looks good babe. Did you get it detailed or something?”
Coming next week: Among the random, offensive and irrelevant material, I dig into my collection of classic snowboarding videos and explain why a frontside 3 is better than a double cork.
