SPY drops the new SPY + RIME Platoon goggle

The 3rd edition of the SPY + The Seventh Letter collaboration series has arrived. Take a gander at the SPY + RIME Platoon goggle, tagged up by renowned graffiti artist, Jersey Joe, aka RIME.

“Providing the largest surface area of all of our goggles, the Platoon is the perfect canvas for Rime’s distinctive characters,” says Juliette Koh, SPY product director. “The Platoon not only features the biggest view possible, but our patented Scoop® venting ensures it will be the clearest.”

CARLSBAD, Calif.—Three is the magic number when it comes to SPY + The Seventh Letter collaborations, and the third features a burner on SPY’s most recognizable oversized snow goggle—the Platoon— by graffiti artist Jersey Joe, aka RIME.

RIME’s complex characters—inspired by Garbage Pail Kids trading cards, Looney Tunes, and comic strips—are intended to live in the grittiness of the outdoors rather than a sterile gallery, making the Platoon the perfect open air canvas for his lines. With classic graffiti style and an irreverent approach to everything he does, the SPY + RIME Platoon is part of the ever-evolving curation between the world-renowned Seventh Letter Crew and SPY.

Adorned with RIME’s trademark characters, the SPY + TSL + RIME Platoon bleeds his trademark graffiti style on both the inside and outside of the goggle strap, is accented with unique loop labeling and carries the RIME tag of approval in the form of his signature logo emblazoned onto the lens. MSRP for the SPY + The Seventh Letter + RIME Platoon is $150 and comes with a fully sublimated microfiber pouch and a bonus persimmon lens. Each SPY + TSL + RIME goggle comes with a custom box and a free RIME sticker pack so you can “get up” too.
