The Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face is finally making its way up to Revelstoke,BC, the same venue that was supposed to kick off the 2014 tour, but had to be rescheduled to March due to questionable conditions. The fifth stop of the tour, and the last chance for riders to earn a spot in the Xtreme Verbier Championships in Switzerland March 22, the contest will go down on the massive Mackenzie Peak, known as “Mack Daddy.”

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (March 7, 2014)- After a great competition at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Utah, USA the SWATCH FREERIDE WORLD TOUR BY THE NORTH FACE® (FWT) heads to Revelstoke, BC, Canada on March 10, 2014. This marks the Tour’s fifth stop, and the last chance for riders to make the cut for the Xtreme Verbier championships in Switzerland March 22. As the pressure intensifies, fans from all over the world will have the opportunity to watch the action live on www.freerideworldtour.com.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort continues to be a favorite venue for athletes and fans alike. The colossal Mackenzie Peak, affectionately called “Mack Daddy”, provides riders with 1,644 vertical feet of steep committing terrain suitable only for the most skilled freeriders. The slope averages 50 degrees from start to finish with a wide variety of line choices enabling athletes to express their unique styles on the challenging face.

The Swatch Freeride World Tour by The North Face begins with an athlete autograph session followed by opening ceremonies Sunday, March 9 starting at 3:30PM PST on the Rockford Plaza at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. The first possible day of competition is Monday, March 10 with a weather window scheduled through March 15 to ensure the best possible venue conditions for athletes and spectators.
