Here at Snowboard Mag we’ve decided to put together a brand new column aptly named “Weekend Warrior” to give you the lowdown on what’s happening pretty much every weekend.

By no means should you consider this a column for kooks, but a column you should read every week to get the low down on what we consider to be the must-do weekend activities. Why you ask? Because we can’t all be struggling snowboard bums for the rest of our lives and the weekends are our time to let loose.

Since it’s summer, we’re kicking off with one of our favorite things, Bacon! Everyone loves bacon, even your vegetarian friends who swear they hate meat. The fact is, they actually love it more than you. Why they choose to not eat this succulent meat is beyond me. Something to do with animal rights (no, we aren’t against animal rights so you can save that comment you were about to post), or wanting to be trendy. Whatever their excuse, it’s more bacon for us!

So if you have no plans this weekend, and even if you do (because nothing is better than bacon), hit up the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour at Keystone Resort, a two day event (June 22 – 23) that will have your mouth watering with more ways to eat bacon than you thought possible, and for only $30 per day.

New this year, Keystone added the Bacon Bloody Mary Bar sponsored by Hair of the Dawg Bloody Mary Mix, the place I’ll be spending most of my time. The festival kicks off at 1pm each day which gives you plenty of time to book a tee time at either the Ranch or River golf course or jump on your mountain bike to shred Keystone’s crazy good downhill and cross-country mountain bike courses.

Yes, it's that beautiful!
