Every couple of years a new rider pops onto the map and steals the spotlight. With the rate of progression seeming to only speed up, and the age of riders only getting younger, it is hard to not become fixated on the future of snowboarding. What can possibly happen next? What far corner of the world will the next prodigy emerge from, and what mind bending performance will they unleash to capture our attention? These infatuations with the future and with progression, can often over shadow history and those who paved the way. As snowboarders, we are forced us to remind ourselves of the legends and forefathers who made it all possible. Full Moon is the first entirely female snowboard film of its kind. A film with the sole mission of celebrating the past, present, and ultimately the future of women’s snowboarding.

Led by their fearless leader, Leanne “el Presidente” Pelosi, the film’s crew is made up of the top female snowboarders from the last ten years. Featuring, Annie Boulanger, Robin Van Gyn, Hana Beaman, Jamie Anderson, Marie-France Roy, and Helen Schettini, the Full Moon crew themselves are considered legends by many. However, while the ladies of Full Moon have been pioneers, they choose to pay special tribute to the few before them. Icons including Tara Dakides, Barret Christy, Tina Basich and Circe Wallace, riders who paved the way for female snowboarding when there were no paths to follow.

Over the last two years, this all-time ensemble of women’s snowboarding has stepped away from the contest circuit, to meet in the backcountry and build a future for women’s snowboarding. In celebrating their heritage and roots, they hope to build a piece of history. Full Moon honors the culture and spirit of snowboarding, with the intent of ultimately giving back to the sport and community.

“There is no present without the past and no future without the present.”

The world Premiere of Full Moon takes place in Whistler on September 16th 2016. For a complete list of tour dates visit here.
