Yes, you read that title right. Based on Lexus’ site, “Slide” uses a combination of superconductors, magnets and liquid nitrogen (hence the smoke) to create an electromagnetic field that allows it to stay suspended above a track of permanent magnets. So technically, it’s pretty limited. Now is hoverboarding going to become a thing? Probably not. But it’s pretty cool to see that someone is trying to make ambitions set forth in Back to the Future a reality.

By the looks of it, Lexus built this “hoverpark” just for filming this little video. Hopefully they open it up to actual skateboarding as well…
