It seems counterintuitive, but professional snowboarders don’t always get a lot of time to just go ride. One would think that they’re strapped in all of the time and to an extent they are, but due to the demands of filming a part, competing, weather, or traveling to and from locations, it can be difficult to get a full day of snowboarding in. For most of the United States the story of the season has been one of low snow levels and high temperatures. But in Europe, particularly the Swiss Alps, it has been pretty much opposite with many riders falling into a “staycation.” So Pat Moore decided to pack his bags and hop on a flight for an episode of Blueprint with one incredibly talented group of riders: Nicolas Müller, John Jackson, Jake Welch and Jake Blauvelt. We have to say it’s great to see someone getting the deep stuff out there.

From Red Bull via YouTube:

Frustrated by poor conditions in North America, Pat Moore sets his sights on Europe and books a flight to Switzerland for his first-ever European pow filming trip. He arrives in the Alps to find fresh powder and an all-star crew to shred with: Jake Welch, John Jackson, Nicolas Müller, & Jake Blauvelt. The group vibe is pure stoke as the boys take full advantage of a bluebird powder day and Switzerland’s feature-filled natural terrain. For this episode, Pat has travelled far outside his filming comfort zone of North America & quickly tunes into the European approach, riding & filming on lift-access resort terrain and maximizing his time spent strapped in. As always, the take-away from this travel piece is simple: keep exploring. You’ll never know ’til you go.
