It’s a harsh reality, but the days we are forced to ride icy hardpack make the deep powder days that much better. Offshore Snow Shapes is an Australian company focused on the pursuit of the pow turn, but even they have lower expectations for some sunny park laps every once in a while. Just remember, these guys are much more comfortable laying into a frontside turn than a frontside boardslide, but that doesn’t make this any less entertaining to watch.

From Offshore Snow Shapes:

With low tide conditions in the Australian Alps for the start of the 2015 winter, we were forced to abandon our regular protocol of riding strictly powder and headed to Perisher resort to slash our way around the man-made patch of snow that the resort had kindly created.

Although the resort was crowded, over-priced, and lacking in natural snow, this was over shadowed by sunshine, good vibes and the amazing job by the Perisher Park crew who built a fun set-up with limited resources.

If there is one thing we can conclude from our trip to the dark side, it is our boards not only turn in the deep stuff, but are super fun to ride when conditions get firm.
Resorts suck… Ride Powder!
