The kids are alright: Volcom’s Peanut Butter And Rail Jam at Blue Mountain, ON Canada

Stop #5 of Volcom Stone’s Peanut Butter And Rail Jam pointed its compass north of the border and landed at Blue Mountain, ON Canada on Saturday February 7, 2015.

Canadians seem to have a total different way of looking at things, which lead to some of the most interesting action of the 2015 PBRJ tour thus far. Multiple riders had custom shaped snowboards, one rider was laying it down on a swallowtail powder board and another rider showed up in a 3 piece suit along with his snowboard inside a briefcase. Just when you think that you have seen everything, someone’s ready to throw a curve ball. Mother nature pitched her own curve ball as a weather system rolled in to drop a high rate of snow throughout the day. The non-goggle steez had riders squinting like a grandparents trying to read a sight chart. Regardless of these testing conditions, competitors continued to put down heavy tricks like a sw bs 360 50-50 on the down square bar in zone 3, a plethora of spin in spin out maneuvers on the flat tube in zone 2, and got technical with tricks like a nose press fs 360 out on the elevated shark fin rail in zone 1. It was a battle to the end to see who would walk away with the top spot in each division.
