The Am Throwdown is a new park and pipe video contest for amateur snowboards across the United States.

The Details:
A team of one rider* and one filmer* must upload a finished edit to snowboardmag.com by February 15, 2011. The finished edits should be no longer than 1:30 and can contain no music.

The top five two person teams will be selected by our judges and flown to Copper Mountain in April to film a part and compete for $5000.

The final winner will be chosen by voting on snowboardmag.com. So get out there and start filming. February 15 will be here sooner than you think.

AM THROWDOWN CONTEST – OFFICIAL RULES
 NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
The Am Throwdown Contest is sponsored by Snowboard Magazine/Storm Mountain Publishing (“Sponsor”). The geographic scope of this promotion is the United States. Contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws.  Void where prohibited by law.  By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules. Limit one (1) prize per person. Neither Energy Brands Inc. d/b/a glacéau, (“EBI”) a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company not its affiliates, subsidiaries, joint ventures, bottlers or customers are a sponsor of this contest/promotion and shall bear no responsibility or liability for any aspect of the administration of the contest/promotion. Contest begins on December 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”), and ends on or about April 25, 2011 at 12:00 a.m. MT (“Promotion Period”). Final entry deadline is February 15, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. MT. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device of this Contest. ELIGIBILITY All entrants must be eighteen (18) years old, legal residents of the United States at the time of entry and have Internet access. Employees and contractors of Storm Mountain Publishing, or any of the contest affiliates: EBI, Copper Mountain Resort, The House Boardshop, Yes Snowboards, or Smith Optics (collectively “Contest Entities”), or individuals engaged in the development of, the production or distribution of materials for, or the implementation of this Contest and the immediate families (defined as spouse, parents, siblings or children) or household members (whether or not related) of the employees of any of these, are not eligible.  PRIZES Five (5) finalist teams, each consisting of one snowboarder and one cinematographer (10 total people), will receive a trip to Copper Mountain, Colorado, to compete in contest finals. Trip is scheduled for the first week of April, 2011. Exact dates to be determined. Trip package includes: round trip airfare to Denver from any major international airport in the lower 48 United States; shuttle transfers from Denver International Airport to Copper Mountain; 5 nights lodging in Copper Mountain, Colorado; 4 days’ lift tickets at Copper Mountain, CO. All expenses not specifically mentioned herein are not included and are solely the winner's responsibility, including but not limited to: meals and alcoholic beverages; laundry service; merchandise; souvenirs; tips; telephone calls and travel insurance; state, federal or local taxes or fees. Sponsor is not responsible for weather-related travel delays or closures of any ski resorts during this time frame. Trip must be taken during contest finals period. SPONSOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO ANY EQUIPMENT USED DURING CONTEST FINALS PERIOD, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: SNOWBOARDS, BOOTS, BINDINGS, CAMERAS, VIDEO CAMEARS, MICROPHONES, COMPUTERS, PHONES AND OTHER GEAR. The video produced during the final week in Copper that is judged to be the winning entry (see Winner Selection below for information on judging) will receive a $5,000 cash prize. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS All details of all prizes shall be at Sponsor sole discretion. Finalists and winner assume sole responsibility for all costs associated with the prizes not explicitly outlined above. All federal, state and local taxes (if any) are the sole responsibility of finalists and winner. Non-cash portions of prizes are not redeemable for cash and may not be sold or bartered. Prizes may not be transferred or substituted except that Sponsor in its discretion may substitute a prize, or portion thereof, with a prize or portion of equal or greater value if it deems necessary. Any such changes will be announced.  TO ENTER Entries will be accepted beginning December 15, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. MT and ending February 15, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. MT (“Entry Period”). To enter, visit HYPERLINK snowboardmag.com/amthrowdown and follow the instructions to create a user profile with the following required information: (a) name, (b) address, (c) telephone number, (d) e-mail address, and (e) date of birth. Once you have created your User Profile, follow the instructions to upload your video (“Video”). Your Entry must satisfy the “Submission Requirements” below. Entries are only complete when the confirmation box alerts you that your Video has been successfully uploaded. Entries will not be accepted via regular mail or any other method. Entries must be received by Sponsor no later than February 15, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. MT. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt by Sponsor. Contest Entities are not responsible for Entries that are lost, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, not legible, if they contain errors or if for any reason they are not received by Sponsor prior to the stated deadline, and all such Entries are void. Entries must include a valid e-mail address for the entrant. You may enter the Contest under one name and one e-mail address only. Enter using only an e-mail address subscribed to and registered in your name. In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of a finalist or winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person 18 years of age or older who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, education institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Users may submit only one entry. No group submissions will be accepted. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed, script, macro, or any other automated means or similar entry methods or agents (including, but not limited to, contest-entry services) are prohibited and will void all entries submitted by that entrant. To be eligible for the Contest, all entries must be received by Sponsor no later than 5:00 p.m. MT on February 15, 2011. Entrants who fail to provide any of the information required above will not be eligible to win and will not be notified by Sponsor. Entrants assume all risk of lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or illegible entries. The information that you provide in connection with the Contest may be used by Storm Mountain Publishing in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is found at snowboardmag.com and which may be updated from time to time. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Videos must meet the video format guidelines in order to be uploaded. File formats accepted include Quicktime (.mov, .mp4, .m4v, .mpg), and Windows Media (.wmv, .asf, .avi), Maximum total file size is 1GB. No music of any kind is allowed in any Video. No watermarks, signatures, or copyright notices may be added to any Video. Videos containing nudity will not be eligible. Any other individual whose face is shown in your Video or any portion thereof must have previously given you written permission for the use of their image.  Video must be original to entrant (not copied, adapted, or reproduced from any other source and not a collaboration with any other person). Any Video or portion thereof that is determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion at any time during the Contest to violate the Submission Requirements or the Official Rules, or to otherwise be in unsuitable, offensive or poor taste, may be rejected and the accompanying Entry disqualified. WARRANTY BY ENTRANT By submitting a Video, each Entrant warrants that (a) the entire Video was created solely by the Entrant and has not been copied, in whole or in part, from a copyrighted or proprietary work belonging to someone else, (b) the Video does not violate any copyright laws, and does not plagiarize, libel, defame, disparage, slander or otherwise infringe on or violate the rights of any third parties, (c) each person depicted in the Video has provided the entrant with signed, written permission to take the photograph and submit it in this Contest; (d) that he/she is legally entitled to submit the Video in the Contest; (e) the distribution, reproduction, display and any other uses of the Video by Contest Entities as permitted herein will not infringe any third party rights, including those of any person who is depicted in, or whose property is depicted in, the Video, and (f) the Video and Entry comply with each of the provisions of the Terms of Use of the Contest website at buffalo.snowboardmag.com/amthrowdown. Each Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Contest Entities, their respective parent companies and subsidiaries, and their respective officers, directors, employees and affiliated organizations, from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, liabilities and causes of action of whatsoever nature that are based upon or arise out of any breach by the Entrant of these Official Rules or the warranties and representations made in this Section. WINNER SELECTION All Entries that are timely and properly submitted during the Promotion Period will be judged by an independent panel of judges (“Contest Judges”), consisting of creative professionals employed by Storm Mountain Publishing. The submission of your Entry to the Contest Judges does not constitute an acknowledgement or determination by Sponsor that your Entry satisfies these Official Rules, including the Submission Requirements, or that you are otherwise eligible. However, Sponsor reserves the right, at any point during this Contest, to refuse to submit to the Contest Judges, or to withdraw from the Contest Judges' consideration, any Entries that Sponsor determines, at any time and in its sole discretion, do not satisfy all requirements of these Official Rules. Contest Judges will judge these Entries based on the following equally weighted criteria: quality of snowboarding action, quality of cinematography, and overall impression. Judges’ decisions shall be considered final and binding. Subject to verification of eligibility, the Entrant whose Entry receives the highest total score will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the video with the highest score for overall impression will be declared the winner. On or about April 25, 2010, or within a reasonable time thereafter, Contest Entities will announce the Winners. WINNER NOTIFICATION Sponsor will contact all potential winners in accordance with the information supplied to Sponsor on the winners’ Entry Forms. Winners will be asked to provide Sponsor with valid identification and execute an affidavit of eligibility and, where legal, a publicity release, and return these documents within three (3) days of notification. Acceptable identification includes a valid driver’s license or other valid picture ID showing name and address. Faxes will not be accepted. Payment will be made in the name of entrant, subject to applicable laws. The winners may also be required to sign other legal documents, including tax forms and a release supplied by Sponsor which, among other disclaimers, releases the Contest Entities and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons from any and all liability related to this Contest and the receipt and use of the prize. Upon verification of eligibility, the names of winners may be posted on Storm Mountain Publishing website and the Contest Entities’ websites, including but not limited to the following sites: HYPERLINK "http://buffalo.snowboardmag.com" buffalo.snowboardmag.com, facebook.com/snowboardmag, HYPERLINK "http://www.smpmags.com" www.smpmags.com, www.vitaminwater.com In the event that any potential winner (a) fails to satisfy any eligibility or verification requirement herein, (b) declines to accept the prize, (c) or is otherwise determined to be ineligible, Sponsor may in its discretion disqualify that individual and an alternate winner will be chosen from the remaining entries using the same selection method and criteria set forth above as soon as reasonably practicable after initial winner is determined to be ineligible.  Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements and restrictions of these Official Rules. PUBLICITY RELEASE By accepting a prize, where permitted by law, each winner grants to Storm Mountain Publishing (and agrees to confirm that grant in writing), and those acting pursuant to the authority of Storm Mountain Publishing, the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use for the purposes of this or similar contest only, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed—including, but not limited to, the World Wide Web—at any time(s), their name, picture, likeness, and information, as news or information and for art, trade, and/or promotional purposes without additional compensation or review. Any individuals depicted in the potentially winning Video must also sign and return a Release of Liability/Publicity within the three-day period specified by Sponsor. Each winner also grants Storm Mountain Publishing the rights to use the winning Video. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY/DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Entrants agree that Contest Entities and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons (a) are not responsible for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to lost, disconnected, interrupted, or unavailable network, server, or other connections, late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail, or for any failed telephone or computer hardware or software, or for any failed, delayed, misdirected, corrupted, or garbled transmissions or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for entries that for any reason are not received by Sponsor by the deadlines stated above; (b) are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or in the printing of this offer, administration of this contest, or in the announcement of the prizes; (c) are not responsible for any injury or damage to any computer, modem or other electrical device as a result of participation in this contest or downloading of any software or materials; (d) are not responsible for unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Submission process or the Contest; (e) are not responsible for any printing, typographical, technical, computer, network or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest, the uploading, the processing or judging of Submissions or views and ratings or the tabulating of views and ratings, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials; (f) are not responsible for any unauthorized third party use of any Submission; (g) are not responsible for the inability to select winners because of postal failure, equipment failure, or data storage failure; and (h) are released from any and all alleged, existing, or future actions; claims; and/or liabilities of whatever nature including, but not limited to, personal injury, bodily injury (including, without limitation, wrongful death and disability), property damage, and expense (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) and loss or damage of any other kind, arising in whole or in part directly or indirectly, from their participation in the Contest (in whole or in part); use (including modification, adaptation, and reproduction) of Entry materials during or after the Contest; and the delivery, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss, or misdirection of any prize. MISCELLANEOUS All federal, state and local laws apply.  Sponsor shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed — including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winners, deadlines, restrictions on prizes, and eligibility — and all of its decisions are final.  By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules.  Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest or any part of this Contest should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction, or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, at which time, Sponsor will determine the winners from among all non-suspect eligible entries received at the time of the Contest termination using the same selection method and criteria set forth above. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit any entrant from participating in the Contest if, at its sole discretion, Sponsor finds such entrant to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, or if such entrant repeatedly shows a disregard for, or attempts to circumvent, these Rules, or acts: (a) in a manner Sponsor determines to be not fair or equitable; (b) with an intent to annoy, threaten or harass any other entrant or any of Contest Entities; or (c) in any other disruptive manner. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with this Contest in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Any failure by the Sponsor to enforce any of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of such Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to correct typographical or clerical errors in any contest-related materials. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by selecting the Winners from all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims in accordance with the previously announced selection criteria. DISPUTES By entering the Contest, entrants agree that (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest but in no event attorneys' fees; and (c) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrants and Contest Entities in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Minnesota. Any legal proceedings arising out of this Contest or relating to these rules shall be instituted only in the federal or state courts located in the State of Minnesota, and the parties consent to jurisdiction therein with respect to any legal proceedings or disputes of whatever nature arising under or relating to these rules. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
