“The Rumble Fish is such a perfect all around board. So fun to play around on the mountain with in all conditions. I’ll ride fresh powder with it in the morning, then when the snow gets tracked out I can cruise the park and groomers with it. It has lot’s of pop witch makes it super fun and easy to ride.”Annie Boulanger

If your idea of a day on the mountain involves a quiet lap followed by a pre-noon indulgence in multiple hot toddys, you’re in the wrong place. The Salomon Rumble Fish snowboard is a deck for the lady that gets pow laps on first chair, cruises groomers after lunch, and caps off the day with a quick tour of the park. This board doesn’t discriminate.

What we outlined above is the idea of a quiver killer, a board that can handle any terrain, in all conditions. So how does the Rumble Fish earn that title?

If Salomon’s resident pow board, the Pillow Talk, and celebrated freestyle board, the Gypsy, had a child, it would be the Rumble Fish. A true twin construction gives it a centered binding stance and even flex throughout, elements that pay homage to its freestyle roots. What landed it in the all-mountain category however, is the strength of its Ghost Green Core, a more durable version of Salomon’s standard sintered base, and cork sidewalls that absorb vibration from variable terrain across the whole mountain.

Stand it up and push your hand in the middle of the board, and you’ll find there’s enough flex to qualify it for playfulness, while still having a backbone for the send. But Salomon didn’t stop at core flex. Carbon stringers in the nose and tail grant the capability for turning heads on both your favorite sidehit, and a perfectly shaped park jump. Finally, the Rumble Fish’s Rockout Camber translates to camber under your feet for transferring power and pop, flat beneath the feet for stability, and a rocker tip and tail for float.

If your friend wants to begin après early, that’s fine. Let her. You have a mountain to ride.

The Salomon Rumble Fish snowboard is for the rider who lets riding do the talking and knows the bar is still open after last chair.
