Spark R&D Arc Splitboard Binding – 2018

MSRP: $385.00

When we’re talking splitboard bindings, we’re talking tech. Focusing on the fine details is what matters when relying heavily on your gear in the backcountry. Spark R&D has been leading the way for splitboard bindings, and they’re continually improving how you navigate in the backcountry. Their latest? The Spark R&D Arc Splitboard Bindings.

The Spark R&D Arc is an ultra-lightweight binding with medium flex and upgraded components for 2018. It’s ideal for longer tours and slipping into that meditative state as you make your way through epic landscapes.

New this season, Spark introduces its Pillow Line Straps. Dropping 46% of its weight from last year, the ultra-durable and low profile ankle strap is a huge upgrade from its fabric predecessor. You won’t be fumbling around with a frozen strap or losing any lateral mobility due to cold weather.

While developing their highbacks, Spark took 3D molds of the most popular touring boots to create a form-fitting cast made to flex with your range of motion. As a mid-soft highback with a moderate amount of glass fiber, you’ll notice a naturally surfy feel. This soft binding, paired with the right conditions — you’ll be on cloud nine.

A huge highlight is the tool-free adjustment for forward lean. A full range of motion from zero to 22 degrees is available in ride mode, with a perfect 13-degree touring position for comfortable strides on the track.

After you’ve made it through the flats, charge uphill using the T1 wire built-in to level out your stance on slopes. With two settings, a low angle at 12 degrees, and a higher angle at 18 degrees, you’ll get the thighs burning without overworking your ankles and calves.

Made for the rider looking to earn their turns on more than a quick two to three-mile approach, the Arc Splitboard Bindings are the perfect mid flexing splitboard binding to do the job.
