In the same way that the Dirksen Derby is the perfect way to kick off your winter, the Slash & Burn Banked Slalom is the ideal cap to your season. Now in its third year, Slash & Burn will take place at Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, March 18-20. If you’re anywhere near Colorado during those dates, we’d recommend making the trip. If you’re not, check flights and book a room at the Rabbit Ears Motel. It’s cheap. The Strawberry Park Hot Springs also offers reasonable lodging options — and you’re at a hot spring.
