Month-Long Series of Events Gets Underway Sat.; Breck Jr. All Mountain Comp, Breck Sports Demo Day and St. Patrick’s Day highlight the week’s activities.

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. — March 11, 2013 —Breckenridge Ski Resort is entering the final month of the ski season with a fever… Spring Fever that is! Breckenridge Ski Resort’s month-long Spring Fever Festival starts this weekend at the ski area and around the Town of Breckenridge.

Here’s the full schedule of this week’s Spring Fever Events:

Saturday, March 16th, 10:45am – 2:30pm
Breck Jr. All Mountain Competition
This is Breck’s inaugural big mountain competition for children/teens up to 15 years old. The competition takes place in Contest Bowl, where competitors have to incorporate the King, Queen, and Joker runs of the bowl into their run. Participants will be judged based on the IFSA standards used by the Freesking World Tour, which includes: line choice, fluidity, control, technique, and style (including creativity).

Saturday, March 16th, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Breck Sports Demo Day- Base of Peak 8
Get some hands-on experience with some of the latest and greatest equipment before taking it home! Featuring the latest products from Salomon, K2, Rossignol, and Volkl, Breck Sports Demo Day will run from 9am-3pm. The event is free with a $40 deposit (which can be either credited toward your product purchase or is refundable), step into a new board or pair of skis and test drive around the mountain.

Sunday, March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day Festivities at Breck Mountain Dining establishments:

SEVENS (at the base of Peak 7) – Wear your best green and participate in the St. Patrick’s Day Costume Competition from 11:00am -9:00pm! Sevens will also feature drink specials all day, as well as feature Shepherd’s Pie and Fish ‘N Chips on the menu.
T BAR – Check out the T Bar’s special St. Paddy’s Day special, featuring corned beef and hash ($16.95, includes beer); or the St. Paddy’s beer-battered broccoli with spicy remoulade sauce – the batter will be made with Irish stout!
