The Arctic Challenge 2014 is putting a new spin on pipe riding, an effort to reestablish the “freestyle” elements that pipe riding was founded on. As contest founder and snowboarding legend Terje Haakonsen explains, this edition of The Arctic Challege will be an experiment in different halfpipe formats and obstacles in order to change up what he sees as the stagnant state of snowboarding competition.
