Yes, we see the top 1% of snowboarders in big ads in the winter with companies far outside of our realm, but it is rare for campaigns with them to drop in the heat of the warm months. Cut to McDonald’s and Mark McMorris putting up a commercial, complete with kickflip, earlier this month to promote the new Red Bull drink at the golden arches. Not mad at it. Not going to drink it, but it is always nice to see a familiar face land a big spot.

Along with McMorris teaming up with his Mc-relatives, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott became the new face of BeauEver, a skincare brand from New Zealand. Louie Vito threw out the first pitch at the Cleveland Guardian’s game. The San Diego Padres saw that and decided to double down on Brandon Davis and have more snowboarders throw out the first pitch in their MLB stadium (to keep the title of snowboarding’s favorite team by having as many riders as possible step on the mound), including Lolo Derminio and Gimbal God. Rumor has it that more are coming. Skullcandy is just dropping commercials that look like a non-stop party and anyone that has gone to Chile has seemed to score. Rob Roethler looks like he is trying out for the PGA this summer and we haven’t heard any news from Zeb Powell, but chances are he is signing another contract that will blow all of our minds because that is just what Zeb does.

Short update for a lot of things happening this summer, but the less-important news is about to be tossed by the wayside because although we are just ending August, winter is right around the corner. X Games League’s first draft is coming up, The Snow League’s world champs, and videos are going to drop soon. Gear looks are starting to surface and shops are waiting for the delivery trucks. Premiere season is about a month and a half away. See you there.
