You know when a car company does a redesign on a favorite—like the latest Tacoma getting a slightly new shape but keeping its reliable reputation? Well, Salomon followed that strategy for 2025, upgrading two of its most successful boards with a new shape. The Assassin and the Rumble Fish—a couple of classics from the last decade—are fully equipped to handle any and all terrain you can ride while strapped in. Hands down, of all the boards that we put under our feet last season, they’re two of our favorites. With slightly pulled-in contact points this year on both of the quiver-killers, Salomon has elevated the already formidable powder experience to a new level on the men’s and women’s models. They’re not the same design exactly, but they serve the same purpose: to be the only board you need for seasons to come.

Don’t believe us? Go watch team riders over the past 10 years and you’ll see these under their feet. They’re freestyle boards that feel great in the park but end up getting more shots in Japan powder than probably any other models in the line. There’s a pro model for the Assassin as well—a bit stiffer, with a different build—but let’s be real: You aren’t a pro. Keep it a little more playful with the flex, and don’t step into an F1 when you need to get groceries sometimes too. Added bonus: You don’t have to pay for gas to ride this. (Although you should probably pitch in if your homie drove to the mountain.)
