Ryland Bell
RED is proud to officially welcome snowboarders Ryland Bell, Annie Boulanger and Austen Sweetin to its pro team. All three riders spend most of their season filming around the world and bring a fresh set of skills to the RED team, which also includes contest superstars like Shaun White, Peetu Piiroinen, Kelly Clark and Kazuhiro Kokubo.
“RED makes really solid products that I can rely on when I’m riding the backcountry,” says Ryland Bell. “Plus, I’m stoked to join a team comprised of the best riders in the industry.”
Born and raised in Alaska, Ryland is truly at home in big mountain terrain. He proved his backcountry skills at the 2010 North Face Masters, where he earned second place. In 2010, Ryland also had a jaw-dropping part in the snowboard film, Deeper where he conquers some of Alaska’s most challenging steeps.
Annie Boulanger
Annie Boulanger is also adding her powder prowess to the RED team. Nominated by TransWorld Snowboarding for two Rider Poll Awards this season, including Women’s Rider of the Year and Women’s Video Part of the Year, Annie has earned the respect of the entire snowboard community. And her career accolades don’t stop there. In 2010, Snowboarder magazine named Annie the Women’s Rider of the Year for ‘tackling serious terrain in Absinthe films’ Neverland’.
Austin Sweetin
And last but not least, Seattle native Austen Sweetin will be taking RED to the streets this season. An urban rail specialist who can also hold his own in the park and powder, Austen earned a coveted Snowboarder Magazine cover shot in October, 2010. He also had a starring role in Forum Snowboards’ award-winning 2010 film, F’It.
“With Ryland, Annie and Austen on board, the new RED team now covers every discipline of snowboarding – from backcountry and street rails to slopestyle and halfpipe competitions,” says RED & anon Brand Manager Randy Torcom. “These new additions make the RED team one of the most diversified in the industry. We’re extremely happy to have the opportunity to work with such talented riders.”
