The Handplant:

You asked, and we listened – The Handplant, it is!

There are few tricks that look as cool as the Handplant, and even fewer that are as easy to learn. Simply said: the trick of choice for those who like to impress their friends!

Follow The Steps:
– Get low, slide the board to bring the tail under you, rotate the shoulders slow and easy, bend at the waist (careful not to overflex your back leg), and place your hands on either side of your tail.
– Straighten the back leg and squirt the board out from under you until you feel the tail pop hard.
After it pops, pull your knees in and bring the board down toward your topside edge.
**Remember to keep your arms straight, so that you don’t have to support all your weight with scrawny muscles… it’s far better to use them bones!
– When your ready to use just one arm, be sure to place it right next to the topside corner of your tail.
– As you squirt, remember to look down at your hand to help allow your body and board to rotate through the plant.

When you get comfortable with these, you can leave your lead hand back by your lead hip and pull that board in for a sweet melon grab. There are so many variations on the handplant, but every single one of them has one thing in common… The Squirt! Learn this important skill and you’ll be unlocking some amazing new options.

World Handplant Day is March 9th, so be sure to throw 3 handplants and post your favorite photos or vids for everyone to share the stoke (March is the 3rd month and there are 9 letters in “handplant”).
