The Frontside Boardslide
When it comes to riding rails, few tricks look as good and feel as solid as the iconic Frontside Boardslide.

To really lock-in this trick, it’s important to first spend time on the movements in a flat, non-sliding environment (your carpet or the flats at the bottom of the lift).
On flat boxes you can get away with just a little hop, but when you take it to down features you must be able to ollie off your toe-side edge to the feature. The ollie will help align your body and board with the down-sloping angle.

Quick Notes for Learning the Frontside Boardslide:
– Set a clean topside edge
– Approach with your lead shoulder pointed slightly toward your topside edge
– After you pop, help the rotation of the board by pulling your front knee toward your back shoulder and drive that rear leg back behind you. The straighter the back leg, the more you’ll lock it in.
•• Important Tip: When you land on the feature (weight over your front foot), try to feel your back heel driving down while you press your front shin into the tongue of the boot.
– As the legs rotate, remember that you need to counter with your shoulders and look down at the end of the feature through your armpit (“The Stinky Window of Success”!).
– Hold pressure over the nose of the board and discipline yourself to nollie out of this trick at the end of the rail. If your shoulders are positioned with clean counter, all you have to do is stare at your landing and unwind your legs to point the board back to straight.

Some of the best-looking Frontboards are locked in over the front foot. Work hard to style this one out by driving that back leg around and holding the press!
