The second stop of the Freeride World Tour kicked off in Golden B.C. with brisk temperatures and perfect conditions. The field was stacked with the best freeriders who were poised to take over Kicking Horse’s steep, big mountain terrain. The scene of the contest went off at “Ozone”, which was the perfect venue for the highly anticipated contest.

Results: Snowboard Women

Former world champion, Marion Haerty (FRA-1st Place) had her eye on the podium and rode with style and confidence. Her win also landed her in first place in overall tour rankings. Wakana Hama (JPN-2nd Place) and Manuela Mandl (AUT-3rd Place) rounded out the podium with big airs and smooth turns.

Mr. Victor De Le Rue, (FRA-1st Place) earned his first career FWT win with a run that included a floaty backside 360 and awe-inspiring backcountry prowess. Three-time world champion, Sammy Luebke (USA-2nd Place) put together a creamy run that included a slash into an exposed spine followed by a huge, perfectly stomped double. Blake Hamm (USA-3rd Place) claimed third with a run that included a creative line and a smoothly landed double.
