The concept of hitting street spots is funny. You show up, put somewhere between twenty minutes and two hours into moving snow, building a lip and dialing everything in. Then you find a way to propel your snowboard toward the feature if gravity isn’t on your side. You strap in, chuck yourself at said feature, unstrap and continue the chucking until, hopefully, you ride away. The amount of time you spend actually riding your snowboard is minimal at best — like 3 seconds. But the riding is not the emphasis; you’re performing a stunt.

The exception to this formula is the ‘line’. Skateboarders have been filming lines in the street since before the VX1000 was a concept sketch, and thankfully they’re finally catching on in snowboarding. Sammy Spiteri’s part from the latest Think Thank release, Methods of Prediction, is chock full of clips with multiple tricks linked together. Not only does it take a greater measure of skill to hit consecutive features, it’s more entertaining to watch and falls closer to what a snowboard was intended for — riding. Way to go, Sammy. Also, 2:40 is absolutely fucked.

One of the most creative street riders in the game, Sammy Spiteri approaches filming a video part with an eye for skate inspired lines and clean executions. For years, Sammy has flown largely under the radar, but last year Think Thank gave “Spits” the opportunity he’s been waiting for and he absolutely crushed it while filming for their most recent full length video, Methods of Prediction. In this break out part, Sammy puts down a entire Home Depot shopping cart of hammers and he does it all the while with a smile on his face.
