Last March, the Quiksilver team went north to British Columbia for a snowboarding and surfing trip for the books. Their destination was Vancouver Island, a place known for its surfing, though less so for its access to snow-filled steeps. Travis Rice, Austen Sweetin, Red Gerard, Bryan Fox, and Quik surfer Mikey Wright found all the goods they were looking for in Nootka Sound, where deep PNW powder was nearby on the menu alongside continuous sets right outside the front door. The BC excursion was surfing the mountain at its finest and it’s drop is the perfect way to get a dose of winter while waiting for the snow to fall.
